Today I had a set timetable, check emails, look at Twitter, write some articles for Flixal and so on. But I received an email this morning and snapped up the chance to have a chat with Peter and Adam, two of the powers that be (overlords you might say) of The Derby Film Festival which is being held in (obviously) Derby, England and begins on May 9th 2014 and runs for 10 days. Ending on my Birthday May 18th 2014.

I first heard about The Derby Film Festival when filmmaker Dominic Burns mentioned it on a social networking site. So I thought ‘Oh that looks interesting’ and headed over to http://www.derbyfilmfestival.co.uk to see what all the fuss was about.

And boy was I impressed.  Of course it would be very easy for me to cut and paste the entire site content here for you to check out. But thats too easy, plus their website is far beyond what my blog site is.

Lets just say…people appearing at the show include :

Dominic Burns (UFO, Allies, Airborne) appearing on a panel that talks about the challenges of making independent film.

Phil Davis, a guy who has acted in more films that I could even list, but include things like Face, TVs Being Human, Alien 3, and Sherlock.

John Hurt, a legend from The Elephant Man, The Hit, Midnight Express, and Alien to name a few.

Imagine sitting in the same room with those guys, being able to hear their career stories and also ask them a question or two that youd love to ask them.

Doesnt get much better than that does it.

Those are only a small amount of the guests attending the show, as I said I dont want to just cut and paste all their content across.

Although chuck in large screen viewings of films such as The Hit, Mad Max, Razorback, Mad Max 2, Plague Dogs, Face, Singing In The Rain and many more and this festival as they say in french….looks f*cking awesome.
