And its back. How many installments of the Leatherface saga have there been.
Looking back ive seen the original 1974 film, the sequel starring Dennis Hopper, I dont think Ive seen Leatherface but did watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre:The Next Generation starring Rene Zellwegger & Matthew McConaughey . Then it was onto the Platinum Dunes remake in 2003, but I skipped The Beginning in 2006.
It seems like you could have a section in your library purely made up of Leatherface films.
Here we go with another entry into the franchise.
The interesting thing about this latest film is that its using a technology that I dont like and that sadly doesnt work for me, and thats 3D.
Now just because I dont like 3D, it doesnt mean that im against it.
I think that 3D has its place and that place is to be used as gimmicks. Now what better gimmick than a splatter film, imagine the scenes displayed before you as you sit in the dark theatre. Chainsaws grinding through the audience, blood flooding into the seats where you sit.
Texas Chainsaw 3D could well be one of the best uses of the 3D format for …well in a long, long time.
What do you think of the trailer and what do you think of the Texas Chainsaw films in general?
Im a huge fan of the 1974 first film, and whilst I do watch the sequels I dont hold them in as high regard as Tobe Hoopers classic.
TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D, a continuation of the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off. The film is released in cinemas January 9th 2013
