I’ve known John Shelton for over a decade now and whilst we have only met 2 or 3 times, we do keep in touch with our social media pages but also via each others YouTube channels. My channel is filled with podcast episodes, geek item unboxings, and interviews. Johns is filled with these really cool short films that John and his friends put together and share into the world. I wish I had his drive for making narrative short films. John seems to release a new one every few months and I admire the hell out him for that and always enjoy seeing the ‘John has a  new short on his YouTube’ alert come through to me. His latest short film ‘A Mr Shelton Adventure:The Case of The Missing Award’ is out now on John’s YouTube Channel. You can head to his channel HERE (but his new film is at the bottom of this article.  I wanted to find out a little bit more about his latest short film but also John’s filmmaking in general so I sent over a few questions which John thankfully answered.  

Where did the idea for the ‘The Case Of The Missing Award’ come from?

The idea for the short film came from those adventure comedy films like Bill and Ted and Tim Burton’s Pee Wee Big Adventure (1985). My film might only be a Short, but I enjoy those type of quirky adventures with the the lead character having a goal or quest in mind.
