Lucky Them from @highfliersfilms

Many years ago, Ellie Klug (played by Toni Collette) dated rock star Matthew Smith. Now years after his apparent death, SLAX magazines (based out of Seattle) editor Giles (played by Oliver Platt) persuades the rock journalist to follow up on apparent sighting of the dead musician.

‘Lucky Them’ takes us on that journey as Ellie, along with rich man Charlie (played by Thomas Haden Church) try to trace whether Matthew Smith is alive, or gone.

‘Lucky Them’ is a fun film, part romantic drama, part human drama, part road movie but it was an hour and a half of well spent viewing time. Funny, touching, and filled with charm. (And some great casting cameos)

Its films like this that make me love watching movies, no matter how many films you watch, you always end up finding one that you didn’t know much about beforehand but makes you so glad you watched it. ‘Lucky Them’, perhaps, but also lucky me for finding this film.
