I thought I would head over to Amazon.Co.UK and see what reviews have been left for the film Allies.
Its not been out on DVD for a couple of weeks now, so lets see what people have to say about the film.

I know the DVD hasn’t been released yet but I was at the premiere. a beautifully shot intimate war movie, with the emphasis on human interaction and the friendships of close friends. The movie does not shy away from the action, or the gore and realities of war! There’s a rawness and an element of gritty realism that I haven’t seen since the days of the spaghetti westerns. A gripping little movie that leaves you feeling like you’ve experienced the conflict first hand. So come on. Support independent British movies. It’s good for the economy and you get entertained too… Bonus!

This was a much better film than I was expecting and I’d happily watch it again. I’ve been wanting to see a good war film for a while and this was a good film.

Allies – a very reasonable price, and only two day’s to arrive, this film is definitely worth a view, from start to finish action, and the brutal realities of war. This independent British movie is wonderfully shot, a spectacular achievement, and the sound and camera work places you into the battle, you’re in the film, in the action feeling like you should look over your shoulder to see if there is a German waiting for you. This film holds itself all the way, fantastic energy from the actors, leaving you emotional. The way it has been shot, it’s so real. Definitely a film I will watch over and over.

this was a very good dvd, story, continuity, most enjoyable/ I think Chris reily stole the show. we will see more of him im sure, my only minor grump is the mens uniforms for the most part, considering they had been through 4 years of war and 3 campaigns, looked like they had just come out of the costume department brand new! but hey! cracking film.

Unexpected, action packed and heart breaking! Genuinely one of the most engaging war movies I’ve ever seen, it really took me by surprise!
