Not shocking news really, but its great to hear that BBC Two has ordered a third series of Peaky Blinders, and as with Seasons 1 and 2, Netflix now is confirmed to be on board again.
The streaming service will air series 3 in the US. after BBC Two transmits it here in the UK
In the U.S., Netflix began airing series 1 on September 30 and has debuted series 2 on November 14. Check out those shows if you havent already.
There are also box sets available for the shows (thats how I watched series 1)
The period drama, which has been nominated for six BAFTAs and won the 2013 Royal Television Society Award for Best Drama Series, is set in Birmingham, England.
The Shelby family leads the Peaky Blinders, a feared gang named for their practice of sewing razor blades into the peaks of their caps.
The cast so far has included such talents as Cillian Murphy (28 days later, Disco Pigs), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, The Final Conflict), Annabelle Wallis (Annabelle), Helen McCrory (Penny Dreadful), Paul Anderson (Top Boy) and Joe Cole (Offender)
The mighty Tom Hardy and Noah Taylor joined the series for its second year.
Whilst any casting additions have yet to be announced for the third series. I want to see Atlantis actor Josef Altin added to the list who has worked on many projects including the Steven Knight written film Eastern Promises and can be seen currently on BBCs Atlantis.
The first six-episode series focused on the lawless streets of post-WWI Birmingham and the second saw the Shelby family expand its empire in London as the 1920s carried on.
Writer-creator Knight (Locke, Eastern Promises) says, “The story of the Peaky Blinders is just beginning, and in Series 3 life will become more lucrative, more dangerous and more international. Expect births, marriages and deaths and a further expansion of the Shelby empire.”
