As I clicked the ‘upload’ button on my thoughts about White Collar Hooligan 2:England Away, I decided that I would write a few more articles (I still hate classing my thoughts as articles, but hey ho) on some of the people connected with the film. They are in no specific order and are just going to be uploaded when I have them done and when I choose to upload them. Of course everyone will be familiar with the films title (or if you arent, then you will be by the end of the week, trust me on that) but are you familiar with some of the cast and crew that do the hard work putting the film (and other films) together.
So, who is first. Well It would have been so very easy to start with the title character and work my way around the cast but Ive opted to start with the wonderful Rita Ramnani.
In the film Rise and Fall Of A White Collar Hooligan (2012), Rita plays the role of ‘Katie’ who’s relationship with Mike Jacobs (played by Nick Nevern) is a major plot point in the film (and also the follow up). To go into any more details than this about Rita’s role in the film would give away plot points but to me, she has a far better role in WCH2:England Away which by no means takes anything away from her work in WCH1.
Back to me for a second. I never went to film school (oh I bet you couldnt tell that), and I never took any media related course of any kind. I began my life as a film fan and the only qualification I have is that I have seen thousands and thousands of films. Thats about it for my level of work in this industry.
Rita however has worked herself to the point where she has a slew of qualifications to her name Rita has a Bachelor’s of the Arts degree in Drama, Theatre and Performance from Roehampton University and also a post-graduate degree in Classical Acting from London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Crikey. I always wondered if I could have the dedication or the staying power to even attempt a course like that. I doubt I would.
Looking at the filmography of Rita Ramnani she has appeared in over 23 projects to date (four of them awaiting release)
Appearing in short films from 2005 onwards(The Hunt For Gollum,Between Brothers), Rita made her feature debut in Bob Phillips directed film Jack Says (written by Paul Tanter), and appearing in various genres over the past few years such as Comedy (How To Stop Being A Loser), Horror/Thrillers (Airborne,The Warning),
It has been a wonderful few years for Rita Romnani and looking at the projects that are lined up for release, this shows no sign of changing. Working again with Director Paul Tanter, Rita has SAS thriller ‘He Who Dares’ , Abducted (previously called The Broken0) and Rita taking the title role in the film Hedda Gabler coming up.
What an amazing year, an amazing future and some serious hard work over the past few years for Rita Ramnani.
I thank her for the hard work and hope she enjoys working in the films, as much as I enjoy watching them.
Check out Rita’s showreel. From 2011, it hardly shows all the wonderful roles that she has performed in.But its a great start. Rita Ramnani. A name to remember.
