I got up at 8am today and decided to try and fit in a couple of films before I start work at 2pm-10pm. Browsing through the selection on Lovefilm (through my Xbox) I was a little overwhelmed at the amount of films on there and just couldn’t decide on anything to view.
I started something called Room 666 which is a Wim Wenders documentary about the changing ways of cinema, however the documentary wasnt in English language and for me its just too early for subtitles. However I did hear the name ‘Charles Bronson’ mentioned and realised I hadnt seen a Bronson film in years.
Its sad to realise that Charles Bronson died nearly 10 years ago. I do miss the guys films and even though he wasnt into creating the sort of films that win Oscars (but not everyone needs to try for the golden statues do they). Most of his films did what they were meant to do and that was entertain us.
With over 160 credits to his name. I am not sure how many of his films I have seen. Id hazard a guess at perhaps 50 or so.
Of course my favourites being the Death Wish franchise which ran from 1974-1994 and spanning 5 films.
Who can also forget his role in The Great Escape
This isnt meant to be an article going into the history of Charles Bronson. Its just a way for me to remember Charles Bronson and the fact I miss his films.
Right now I am watching a film he made in 1970 ‘Cold Sweat’ A revenge thriller, which I am not sure I have seen before.
