From writer/director Titus Heckel ( With Child, The Better Man) comes Chained, now available on Prime Video for rent or purchase courtesy of Cockerel Entertainment.

Taylor (played by Marlon Kazadi) , a 13-year-old boy finds himself hiding out in a disused warehouse to avoid some school bullies and whilst hiding out in there he discovers and befriends Jim (played by Aleks Paunovic), a man chained inside an abandoned warehouse next to a dead body. What will Taylor do? How will he react?  Who is this chained up man? Why is he there? and what happens next!

What we get with Chained is an all round solid thriller which is perfectly paced and doesn’t dawdle around with its time to get the main plot up and running. Within 15 minutes of the film started we are fully up and running.  Writer Titus Heckel has crafted a really engaging character thriller and Director Titus Heckel brings that great story to the screen in a real a human interest thrilling way shot beautifully. This isn’t Saw, this isn’t Black Snake Moan, This is Chained and its a highly interesting story performed by a great cast.

Marlon Kazadi (Childs Play, TVs Supergirl) is excellent as Taylor, the thirteen year old boy who stumbles across the chained up hostage.  When we first meet Taylor ‘ we take an instant liking to this kid. He seems genuine and straight from the start, we see this kid is trying to make the very best of the tough life that he exists in.  The real test of the film though is the dynamics between Taylor, and Jim, the hostage. Does it work onscreen? Can these two be convincing to the audience? Yes is the answer to those questions., actually the answers arent Yes, the answers are YES!

Chained, fascinated me from the start. Its a game of Cat (Taylor) and Mouse (Jim) with the mouse being chained up in a warehouse and the cat trying to work out what to do with him? We the audience (and Taylor too) are busy trying to work out who Jim is? Why is he chained up? Who chained him up? and can he be trusted? Also we the audience are trying to work out whether Taylor will let Jim go?  How will this hostage thriller play out?

Check out Chained to see if those questions are answered? In a world where much of ‘the internet’ moans about all movies being sequels, remakes, reboots etc! Chained is a unique, non IP film that I do highly recommend you check out if you love your indie thrillers.

Chained is out now and you can rent or buy the movie from Prime Video
