With the campaign now live at KICKSTARTER, Annette invites readers, families and supporters to help bring this enchanting story to life.

Oscar’s Brave Heart is a heart-warming tale set to capture the imagination of young children and the hearts of parents alike. Oscar is a tiny kitten with an enormous spirit. He embarks on a series of gentle adventures — exploring new places, making friends, solving little problems and discovering that true bravery is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to try. This picture-book combines charming illustration with a narrative that celebrates curiosity, empathy and courage — perfect for bedtime reading and young readers aged 1 -7 but is also suitable for all ages!

The Kickstarter Campaign

The campaign (which runs until the 1st of December 2025) has been launched to fund the following.

The hiring of an illustrator who will work with Annette (and using real photographs) be able to create illustrations to help bring the book to life. (for the campaign AI images are used as placeholders to give an idea of what the finished illustration style will look like) 

High-quality print production (hardcover and paperback) and eco-friendly materials.

Hiring of a voice actor to narrate the audiobook version of Oscars Brave Heart.

Distribution and shipping to backers around the world.

Supporters can choose from a range of rewards, including early-bird discounted copies of the book, personalised signed editions, plush-toy perks of ‘the Brave Heart’  and classroom-bundle packs.

Annette’s goal is to raise £8,000 by December 1st 2025 to ensure the book is ready for shipping by May 2025 (for the physical copies, digital copies will be available many weeks before)
