Inspired by the true story of Britain’s first and most daring female spy, Krystyna Skarbek, a brand-new WWII epic, The Par(san, is set for its World Premiere , is set for its World Premiere this September, in cinemas from 3 October and its home release on 27 October courtesy of High Fliers Films.
Directed by James Marquand, this thrilling British-Polish co-production is stunningly shot and features an incredible lead performance from Morgane Polanski (The French Dispatch, The Ghost Writer, The Wife), alongside screen legend Malcolm McDowell, as undercover British agent Trenchcoat. Born in Poland, Krystyna Skarbek was the first woman to serve Britain as a special agent during the Second World War, as well as the country’s longest-serving agent one of the most effective. Hailed as Winston Churchill’s favourite spy and deemed Britain’s most glamorous, this courageous bonafide hero was also the inspiraton behind the original James Bond girl, Vesper Lynd, in Ian Fleming’s first novel, Casino Royale.
We meet her as a daring young woman with a flair for chaos, who finds her true calling in the shadows of war – a spy capable of changing the course of history. The cast includes a line-up of stellar international talent including Steven Waddington (Slow Horses Uncharted, The Last of the Mohicans), Ingvar Sigurdsson (Everest, The Northman), Frederick Schmidt (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Angel Has Fallen), Grégoire Colin (NeneJe and Boni), Piotr Adamczyk (For All Mankind, Hawkeye) and Agata Kulesza (Ida, Cold War).
