The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning – On Limited Edition 4K UHD bluray NOW from Arrow Video.

After 2003’s successful remake of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes would take another trip to the Lone Star State for the terrifying prequel, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning which over the years has had its detractors but also has its fanbase (I’m in the latter)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning isn’t the strongest entry in the long-running horror franchise,it’s still an effective and watchable prequel that delivers exactly what fans of Leatherface expect: grim nasty grim atmosphere, some brutal kills, and the feeling of dread for the characters in the film.

While the film doesn’t quite reach the heights of the 1974 original classic or even some of the sequels, it offers an interesting look at the origins of the Hewitt family and how Leatherface was molded into the monster audiences know all too well.

Where this release truly shines, though in its Blu-ray edition and this is usually the case with Arrow Video titles is the quality of the films presentation.. The picture quality is great and the sound design captures every scream and chainsaw roar with clarity which heighten the terror and anticipation at whats to come.. Even better are the extra features and anyone familiar with my site will know how much I love special features on a disc release. Behind-the-scenes documentaries, interviews, and commentary tracks provide insight into the filmmaking process and the challenges of crafting such a bleak story. For fans of horror history (and that definitely includes me) , these features alone make the disc worth owning.

Feast your eyes on this twisted and horrifying vision of the Hewitts’ origins, presented here in its original Theatrical Version (Running Time for the film is 1hrs 30 minutes, 57 seconds)and the extended Uncut Version for the first time on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray! (Running Time for the film is  1hrs 36 minutes, 10 seconds) and check out the full list of extra features!
