101 Films presents The Dollman Toybox. An 8-movie boxset packed with special features.

In the early 1990s video stores ruled the movie world and I ran one (a video store, not a world) I loved the arrival of new films and one of the things that excited me most was the arrival of a new Full Moon movie. I dont know how many movies Full Moon and Charles Band are up to, but I know its a lot. At one point I built myself a spreadsheet and wanted to start from the beginning and watch them all (sadly thats a project which didnt get off the ground as I realised that It would (a) cost me a fortune to collect them all, and (b)Id never find time to watch anything else.  Ive always been a fan of Full Moon and Charles Band and this 8 movie box set really does interest me.

But lets go back to the 1990s. Charles Band and the B-movie masters at Full Moon released the Albert Pyun directed Dollman (1991). Led by the charismatic and grizzled Tim Thomerson as Brick Bardo, AKA Dollman. The comically absurd plot resonated with B-movie fans and the film soon became a staple of the late-night cable schedule and video rental shelves.

The David S. Goyer penned Demonic Toys (1992) followed soon after Dollman, unleashing a whole host of miniature terrors. Characters like Baby Oopsie and Jack Attack were introduced, both of whom went on to have their own spin offs later in the series. Then came the downright bizarre crossover that Full Moon fans had been waiting for, Dollman Vs Demonic Toys (1993), featuring characters from multiple films in the Full Moon archives. Produced using mainly recycled footage, Dollman Vs Demonic Toys was originally criticised for its use of stock footage, but fans found the strangeness and audacity of the project endearing, it has since gone on to become a B-movie curiosity and cult favourite. Spawning two further Demonic Toys titles, Demonic Toys 2 AKA Demonic Toys: Personal DemonsDemonic Toys: Jack Attack, and a further spin off series the Baby Oopsie Trilogy.

Title 046 on the 101 Films Black Label, this release marks the first time that DollmanDemonic Toys and their multiple spin offs and crossovers have been available together in one boxset. The 101 films release is packed with additional content, including new interviews with Full Moon founder Charles Band, composer Richard Band and Billy Butler, director of the Demonic Toys sequels and the Baby Oopsie film series.
