Checking out ‘AWAKEN : Astral Blade’ on my Playstation 5 ( @ESDigital_Games @AwakenBlade )

As the winter weather approaches (really fast) one of the things I want to do through the winter months is spend a little more time playing video games on my PS5. Im not what they call a ‘hardcore’ gamer, but I do enjoy sitting in a nice cozy room playing a fun game and its something I havent done as much of over the past couple of years as Id liked to have done- so that now changes! This week I sat down (in the nice cozy room) and spent some time with the new game from ESDigitial and Dark Pigeon Games ‘AWAKEN:Astral Blade’ which has just arrived on Playstation 5 (its also on Steam and the Epic Game Store)

AWAKEN – Astral Blade was released globally on 22nd October for SteamEGS and PlayStation 5

AWAKEN: Astral Blade described as a ‘Metroidvania’ style game is a super easy game to get into and I had a blast whilst playing it!  I did record some of my early gameplay which you can see on the video below, and also hear my initial thoughts on the game. But Spoiler! I really like this game and Dark Pigeon Games and ESDigital  have done a great job in rekindling my love of video game playing. In the game you are ‘Tania’ who adventures through ruins, forests and a dark fairytale set in the Horace Islands, slashing and hacking through creatures, trees and navigating through a beautiful looking game landscape.  Its the sort of game that’s super fast to get into, very easy to navigate, and can play it in short sessions or spend a great 10 hours plus in a single sessions to complete it.  (I have played several short sessions as that’s the way I like to play games- when I have some time- I play some games to relax my mind)

I loved that AWAKEN:Astral Blade reminded me of so many games I played over the years, I used to love side scrolling platformers and AWAKEN:Astral Blade took me right back to those days.  Check out my thoughts and some of the early gameplay here in this video.
