Grimmfest Announce Guest List for October 2024

Word must have got out: GRIMMFEST is the place to be in early October. This year they have more film makers and actors than ever before wanting to attend the festival, present their films, and meet their public.

GRIMMFEST offers a unique opportunity to see all-new movie premieres on the big screen, long before they go on general release; to see films you might never get another chance to see in a cinema (and in some cases films that I am still waiting to see again, on release) . And it’s a chance to get up close and personal with the actors and the film makers themselves; to ask them questions, discuss their creative decisions and that’s something I have done on many occasions over the years when I attend Grimmfest. Within recent years I got to hang out with Mick Garris, Reece Shearsmith, The Soska Sisters, Pollyanna McIntosh, Ben Miller and many more.

At Grimmfest, there is no “Them and Us”. Filmmakers and performers are encouraged to mingle, socialise, often sharing a drink at the bar with audience members. You can get your posters signed, certainly, you can take photographs, but this isn’t a convention; this isn’t about charging silly fees for photo opportunities or autographs. This is a ‘money can’t buy’ experience where you get to chat and connect with incredible talent in a relaxed and sociable environment.

So, let’s dive straight in and see who will be attending Grimmfest 2024.

For the Preview Night on Thursday 3rd October, Grimmfest have the World Premiere of BLACK CAB, an eerie fusion of psychological thriller, urban legend, and the supernatural, shot in and around Manchester. We are delighted to announce that the film’s stars, Nick Frost (SHAUN OF THE DEAD, SPACED) and Synnove Karlsen (BODIES, LAST NIGHT IN SOHO), and the director, Bruce Goodison, will be with us to present the film and answer questions.

Also on Thursday evening… Do you want to find out how a horror anthology TV series makes it to the screen? Join Grimmfest for an exclusive European Premiere preview of three episodes of the much-anticipated TALES FROM THE VOID and meet showrunners Francesco Loschaivo and John Kelley, who will be coming over from Canada to host the event.

Finally, that evening, Grimmfest will be welcoming actress Caroline Quigley and producer Paul Kim all the way from the USA for the International Premiere of BEEZEL, a bone- chilling reinvention of the “found footage” horror.

On Friday 3rd Oct the festival is joined by Justin Hardy (Son of Robin Hardy) and producer Chris Nunn to present and discuss their documentary CHILDREN OF THE WICKER MAN, an insightful and emotional exploration of Justin and his brother Dominic’s often troubled relationship with their father, and with the film that made his name.

From Italy, Grimmfest welcome prolific horror movie director Fredrico Zampaglione, who first made his mark as a musician with the band Tiromancino, before turning to directing acclaimed movies such as SHADOW, TULPA and now the Italian box office smash THE WELL, starring Lauren LaVera (TERRIFIER 2), which has its English Premiere at Grimmfest.

From Norway Grimmfest welcomes director Joey Palmroos for the World premiere of the gripping DELIVERY RUN along with UK actors Alexander Arnold, Arthur Sylense, Liam James Collins and Nadine Higgin who will introduce the film and answer questions after the screening.

Finally, from Holland, Grimmfest welcomse director and producer Loïs Dols de Jong and
producer Suzan de Swaan, for the International Premiere of the harrowing and nail- biting AMSTERDAM ALERT.

On Saturday 5th Oct they have a whopping line up of guests…

From Macedonia, we welcome director Vardan Tozija for the UK Premiere of the heart breaking post-apocalyptic drama, M.

The team behind supernaturally-themed Scandi-noir FROM DARKNESS will be with us in force, with director Philip W. da Silva, producer Gustav Stern, and cast members, Oscar Skagerberg and Peter Morlin all coming along to present the film’s Regional Premiere and answer questions.

For the UK Premiere of the head-spinning TIM TRAVERS AND THE TIME
TRAVELER’S PARADOX, Grimmfest will be joined by Si Begg & Deadly Avenger, composers of the extraordinary score. And to round things off on Saturday evening, Director Pierre Tsigaridis and producer
Maxime Rancon (TWO WITCHES) will be making a welcome return to Grimmfest to present their astonishingly intense second feature TRAUMATIKA.
