A few months ago on a podcast episode with Writer Fraser Coull (Faithful, Cops and Monsters), the topic came up about who our favourite 80s actions stars were. Of course Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Norris came up in the list we rattled off, but one of my choices (and still is) is the mighty Cynthia Rothrock, someone who I watched onscreen a lot in the 80s and 90s when I would either be a customer in a video store, or later when I ran a videostore. I did actually have a Cynthia Rothrock section in the store which had gems such as China OBrien, Fast Getaway, Martial law & Many more titles in that section and it was a pretty popular section for action fans and martial arts fans too. Always been a fan of her work and last year when I started to see updates online about Black Creek, my anticipation for a new Cynthia Rothrock film built! Now its even better as we have a teaser trailer for the film which you can see here.

Black Creek which is directed by Shannon Lanier & Mike Moller, stars Cynthia Rothrock alongside with fellow ass kicking icons Richard Norton (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Under A Red Moon), Keith Cooke (China OBrien, Mortal Kombat Annihilation)  and Don “the Dragon” Wilson (Bloodfist III) Cynthia Rothrock also co wrote the films script along with Robert Clancey and Jeff Gress and has been super active in the films productive right from the off. Watching all the social media updates about the film has been a great journey for a film fan like me to be able to watch. Ive long been a fan of Cynthia’s work and actually on my wish list is to chat with Cynthia on a podcast about her career and of course Black Creek. Finger Crossed that happens! Great work Team Black Creek.
