Anyone who knows me, does know that I love a good box set, and physical media will always rule in my household. Whilst the world of physical media is sadly still in a decline for a few reasons, there are still some stunning box sets that are coming out into the world. One such box set is the one Im going to write about here and is set for release this October from Umbrella Entertainment. The classic (yes I said it…classic) 1979 film Caligula. Now Caligula is a film you may have seen (I have), you may not have, but odds are if you are someone with a knowledge of the film world, you will have heard of it at some point I’m sure. If ever a list of ‘controversial’ films is being put together, Caligula is likely on that list, and does deserve to be on that list. On paper its a pretty simple storyline. a film set in the Roman Empire and a film about the rule of Caligula but its far from a simple film or a simple production of a film either and over the years there have been several versions of the film and now we get all 5 versions of the film in a single stunning set from Umbrella.
