Set against the iconic bustling backdrop of New York City, MADAME WEB also stars Sydney Sweeney (Anyone But You, TV’s ‘Euphoria’ and ‘The White Lotus’), Isabela Merced (Dora and The Lost City of Gold, Transformers: The Last Knight), Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, A Good Person) and Tahar Rahim (The Serpent, Napoleon).

Now I know that the naysayers on the internet have been moaning about Madame Web since before it came out in cinemas and that is a trend that is not only super annoying but also counter productive to movies headed our way. I checked out Madame Web a few weeks ago and I had a blast! It was a fun film, filled with fun characters, good set pieces and the sort of tone that reminded me of the first couple of Sam Raimi Spider Man films back in the early 2000’s. Is it a film that will change your life, perhaps not. Is it one of the best films of all time, one that will rise to your Top 10 film list, no that’s unlikely, but is Madame Web a fun couple of hours worth of entertainment. YES, a big YES from me. So naysayers go away, and for those who haven’t seen the film, check it out for yourself.  I really do hope that people shy away from following the advice of online strangers when it comes to their home viewing. Some of my favourite films are ones that the ‘internet’ dislikes, and some of the films that I’m not a huge fan of- are films that are widely loved. So take that lesson away with you- decide yourself if a films any good.   and Madame Web was and is a fun way to spend an afternoon (or evening)
