Earlier today I took delivery of a wonderful book to add to my collection. Having previously bought the Titan Book ‘ Army Of The Dead: A Film By Zack Snyder Ultimate Edition’ I was very excited to see that Titan had produced a Rebel Moon hardback book too so of course it was a no brainer that I wanted this in my collection. Released in April 2024, the first of two official companion books for the Zack Snyder-directed Netflix films Rebel Moon is entitled ‘ Rebel Moon: Wolf: Ex Nihilo: Cosmology & Technology’ and retails around £39.99 ($50.00 US/Canada)

Rebel Moon: Wolf: Ex Nihilo: Cosmology & Technology is a glorious ‘coffee table’ book from Titan Books, written by Peter Aperlo (who also wrote the Army Of The Dead book I mentioned) Rebel Moon: Wolf: Ex Nihilo: Cosmology & Technology goes behind the scenes of both films to explore the planets, the ships and the technology of the Rebel Moon galaxy. Filled with exclusive on-set photography, concept art, storyboards and more, its also features cast and crew interviews, and much more. this 192 page book will take you way behind what went into making this film and take you on a trip through the Rebel Moon world.

What works really well with the ‘coffee table’ books such as this one, is that you can decide how you spend your time with it. Whether you set aside a bunch of time to start at page 1 and work your way through to the very end in a single session (or two)- that works, but also you can sit down and spend a few minutes at a time flipping through the book, gazing at the stunning art and photography and treating the book as a perfect ‘have a coffee and a few minutes chill time’ sort of book. I was flipping through the book earlier today and checked out the look of the book, the smell of the book (yes new books smell awesome!) and later on this evening I will sit back and start at page 1, with the soundtrack to Rebel Moon playing softly in the background. Yep that’s how I roll!

And just in case you haven’t yet learned everything you want to know about the Rebel Moon universe, there is more to come. In June 2024 (July 2024 in the US) Titan Books are bringing more Rebel Moon to your bookshelves and the books will look amazing (once read of course) on your bookshelf.

After completing the first book there was definitely more to learn and so we get Rebel Moon: Wurm: Ex Materia: Heroes & Monsters (also retailing at £39.99 UK / $50 US/Canadian) which this time takes us into the world of Rebel Moon’s heroes, villains, monsters and animals. This 192 page book (which I haven’t yet seen) will showcase more exclusive on-set photography, more concept art, costume designs, storyboards by Zack Snyder, and even more cast and crew interviews. Whilst each book works as a standalone book, together they pair will make up a fantastic comprehensive look at Zack Snyder’s latest films. I’m pretty sure that once I’ve read the books, Ill head back to the films and feel more at home on the Rebel Moon.
