Treat yourself! Brit crime thriller comedy Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire out now on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download.

The British comedy crime-thriller, directed and written by Michael Head is now available on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download.

For those who love Brit crime films such as The Business, Love Honour and Obey, Snatch, Dead Man Running, and The Firm. You will have a blast with Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire, whist the plot is its own thing and on paper might sound like something that’s been done before and done many times – the tale of a crime family trying to stay afloat and to make money, deals, and not let anyone ‘mug them off’, the style of dialogue, and the level of dialogue humour in the script and performances raised Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire far above that often trodden plot and reminded me a lot of those films I first mentioned and films which are similar to them and it was great to sit down for the evening and laugh my ass off as I watched a crazy bunch of characters living their life, causing chaos and dealing with the chaos caused to them by other crazy characters.

Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire is filled with bonkers people, too many to mention in a list (or it’ll be a long list) The cast list is a who’s who and those who have seen as many UK films and shows as I have- you’ll be recognising pretty much everyone in this film.  I went into Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire thinking that this film would kill an hour and a half and it’ll be fine- however it only took me a couple of minutes to realise that I was watching something very special and that much of the dialogue I was hearing and many of the characters I was spending time with, would remain in my head for a long time to come.  Director/Writer Michael Head (who also plays Henry in the film) has crafted a gem of a film and from what I read, some of this is based on actual events, I bet its fascinating to know which events are real and which ones have been crafted by Michaels imagination, whatever’s true and whatever’s fiction in Bermondsey Tales., i couldn’t see the seams when watching the film.

Bermondsey Tales. is a film that I will be adding to my film collection when its released on disc and its a film that will fit that ‘I need a laugh, what shall I watch’ situation that I often come across. Thank you Michael! . So if you want a laugh. No in fact if you want dozens of laughs, then I do highly recommend you check the film out when you can and as a tease. Here are two laughs for you from the movie.

crabs can go f*ck themselves, side walking b*stards” – Henry.

“there I was, milking this goat, and realised it was a ram, put me off goats cheese forever” -Edgar

I did mention that if I named the cast that it would be a long list, well I of course do have to mention a few of them, just to show that I wasn’t making up the part when I said the film was a who’s who.In Bermondsey Tales we have John Hannah (The Mummy), Frank Harper (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels), Alan Ford (Snatch), Adam Deacon (Sumotherhood), Vas Blackwood (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels), Linda Robson (Birds Of a Feather), Charlotte Kirk (Ocean’s Eight), Vicki Michelle (Allo Allo), Gary Webster (Minder), David Schaal (The Inbetweeners), Maisie Smith (Eastenders), Dean Kilbey (Boiling Point) and Sophie Rankin (Escape) …..and breathe! told you it was a list!

Commenting on the UK release, director and writer Michael Head said; “‘It was an honour to work with such a great cast on a story based on my family history. I am delighted to see it get a cinematic release and can’t wait to share this with the UK audience and hope it does my family and South London proud“.

Producer, Rohit Nathaniel, added; “This has been an incredible journey from discussing the script with Michael, to getting a fabulous cast and now producing this gangster comedy on the big screen for everyone to enjoy“.
