Whilst much of the internet moaned about idea of a horror film based on the beloved child classic Winnie The Pooh, the film did make a reported $5.2 million on a 100k budget so it was inevitable we would get more Winnie, but also more horror films based on child classics. What we didn’t bank on was that we now seem to be ending up with a cinematic universe with some of them. and the team that brought you Winnie The Pooh Blood and Honey are planning a ‘Pooniverse’ (genius title I gotta say!) and over on Variety, the following has been unveiled

“Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble,” 

So from Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios there is reported to be an onslaught (or should that be onslaughter)  of horror characters based on Bambi, Tinkerbell, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tigger, Piglet, The Mad Hatter and also Sleeping Beauty which should all arrive within the next year or two.  Some people might say this is pure madness, some may shrug their shoulders and take to their keyboards. Some might say this is a genius move. I for one say its an interesting move and if the films keep a low budget, then this could be a money spinner for the film makers. Only time will tell but it will be fun watching the development of the films and seeing them being unleashed into the wild. You can read the full article on Variety here
