Get ready for a great weekend in London this Summer with The NeverEnding Fantasy Con, three days of celebration featuring guests, screenings, and a screening of Man and Witch:The Dance of a Thousand Steps, starring the Empress herself Tami Stronach. I remember my first every viewing of The Neverending Story back in 1984 and to this day its still one of my favourite films of all time. As a child it was magical, and as an adult I’m still transported back to the magical time of my first viewing of the Wolfgang Petersen film. But enough about me geeking out about the world of racing snails, and oracles, Lets get back to The NeverEnding Fantasy Con which is brought to you by Thames Con. Running from Friday the 31st of May to Sunday the 2nd of June 2024 Those three days look pretty packed.

First day, Friday, treat yourself to the first UK Theatre screening of the multi-award winning documentary Life after the neverending story’ by Lisa Downs (Life After Flash, Life After The Navigator) Which is screening at the Prince Charles Cinema, London there’s also a Q & A afterwards with cast and crew including film director Lisa Downs, actress Tami Stronach and singer Limahl. So get your questions ready!

After a great Friday, lets head into Saturday where there’s a special 1 day fantasy film convention held at the Chelsea Old Town Hall, London. Saturday is filled with wonderful things such as a cosplay competition . Oh my what choices!!! So many options to cosplay from the world of fantasia. What would you dress as? a rock biter perhaps? racing snail? Doors open at 10:30am until5:30pm so there’s a fun packed day here for you too mingle with like minded NeverEnding Story fans and grab some selfies and autographs.

And lets head into Sunday (so save some energy for Sunday) On that date there’s options for a VIP medieval supper, (yummy!!) with the cast and crew, there’s also the world premiere of Man and Witch: The Dance of a Thousand Steps World (this looks amazing!!)directed by Michael Hines and written by Greg Steinbruner, the film is a beautiful homage to fantasy films of the 80s and stars Tami Stronach as ‘Witch’ , Sean Astin, Christopher Lloyd, Eddie Izzard, Jennifer Saunders and Bill Bailey. Imagine walking the red carpet at a world premiere!. There’s a chance to attend a VIP afterparty where you can mingle, take photos, and perhaps even dance your evening away if that’s your thing. All in all a great weekend of neverending fun and games (pun intended!) Also updating seems to be the list of guests that will be in attendance. Since first putting this article together, it has been announced that Brian Wheeler, Jason James Richter, Willie Coppen & filmmaker Lisa Downs will also be there so whilst the date for The Neverending Fantasy weekend is approaching, there are still announcements coming.
