revisiting Alleycats (2016)

This year is a year of nostalgia for me, and whilst I of course  will a great deal of films released in 2024, Im also enjoying selecting films from my physical media collection, popping them into my player and revisiting old friends. Today I revisited 2016’s Alleycats, a film which I hadn’t rewatched since 2018. I enjoyed it in 2016, I enjoyed it in 2018 and I still very much enjoy it in 2024.  Alleycats takes us into the gig economy world of courier bikers and when bike courier Chris (played by Josh Whitehouse) witnesses what looks like a murder, his first instinct is to cut, run and hide. But Chris’s curiosity soon draws him back in to things and he’s soon embroiled in a world of corruption, political power, and illegal bike racing. Tons of fun and a film that If you haven’t seen- I do recommend you check out. Back in 2016, in the earlier days of frompage2screen.com I did write about Alleycats. You can read that article here

Since Alleycats, the films director has gone onto make McQueen (2018), the story of fashion designer Lee Alexander McQueen, and Rising Phoenix (2020), about the history and current standing of the Paralympic Games.
