Im very happy today, I didn’t even now the film was coming and now that I do. Im very happy indeed. XYZ Films has acquired all US rights to distribute the martial arts sci-fi action film SKYLINE: WARPATH, written and directed by action mastermind Liam O’Donnell (Beyond Skyline) and starring Iko Uwais (The Raid Franchise) and Scott Adkins (One More Shot), with Louis Mandylor (The Flood) , Randall J. Bacon (Battle For Saipan) and Yayan Ruhain (The Raid 2) rounding out the cast. The film is produced by Matthew Chausse and Evangelo Kioussis. XYZ Films will release the film domestically in early 2025. I love the Skyline films and they just keep getting better and better!
Set within the “Skyline” universe and five years after the events of BEYOND SKYLINE, Sua (Iko Uwais) leads The Resistance against the aliens. When Sua discovers the powerful alien Radial Gauntlet, he must deal with both the corrupt Eric (Scott Adkins) and the army of alien invaders.
In a partnership with XYZ Films, the original BEYOND SKYLINE was distributed by Vertical Entertainment before its festival debut at Sitges Film Festival in Spain in the fall of 2017. The film was met with uproarious approval from festival crowds around the world, playing at Trieste Science+Fiction, Toronto After Dark, Austin Other Worlds, Rio Grind Vancouver, Cinepocalypse Chicago as well as the Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival where up and coming O’Donnell was give the “Emerging Voice” Award. Uwais also has a history of working with XYZ Films, dating back to his star turn in the global success THE RAID franchise, as well as THE NIGHT COMES FOR US, and most recently he co-starred in XYZ’s science fiction actioner ASH, directed by Flying Lotus.
“Since we first met Iko Uwais, Matthew Chausse and I have been pushing to make a star vehicle for him like Warpath. Pairing him with the truly versatile action legend Scott Adkins, along with XYZ films, the company that started things off for us, has been a dream come true,” said Liam O’Donnell.
