Green Hell, an open world game where survival is key.

Whilst this game did come out in 2021 for the Playstation 4, I hadn’t gotten around to playing Green Hell until today (on my Playstation 5).  So what is Green Hell. Well its  described as an Open World Survival Simulator and starts with you somewhere in the Amazonian rainforest.  Dumped in the jungle, no food or any equipment, the aim of the game is to survive, find equipment and pretty much kill anything that isnt you. I have played similar games to this such as Dead Island and so was quite looking forward to spending some time in Green Hill. However what I did find was that the camera angles or rather the motion of the game made me a little icky, in the same way I felt when playing Skyrim on the first Playstation VR (and Green Hell isn’t a VR game)  I actually only managed a few minutes on the game in my first sitting and felt ‘car sick’ by the end of it.  The world of the game does look pretty huge, with cliffs trees, and plenty of places to fall down or be jumped upon by wild animals (yes they are roaming around this world too)  I have placed a gameplay video of my first attempt at Green Hell and you can be the judge on whether my points on the motion sickness are valid or not.

I will try this game out again though and it could be that once I’ve gotten used to the motion of the game, that is it a lot of fun to play, but for now sadly, its not in any danger of being my go to game at the moment.

Green Hell is available on PlayStation, Xbox and also PC
