Casper Van Dien and Nicky Whelan in creature feature film Brandon Slagle’s ‘The Flood’ on VOD, DVD and Amazon. Bring on the popcorn! ( @brandonslagle )

If you love ‘creature features’ and I sure do! get ready for The Flood, directed by Brandon Slagle which is now on video on demand and DVD and Amazon. . The Flood (written by Chad Law (Daylight’s End) and Josh Ridgway (Howlers) takes us into the story of four giant hungry alligators who find themselves a nice potentially tasty lunch in the form of a group of in-transit prisoners & guards who take refuge in a police station during Hurricane Gustvao which rams into Louisiana.  The fact that there is a crazy storm raging and floodwaters rising all around is scary enough but drop in the four jaw snapping, thrashing alligators ramps up the terror and risk even more.

Director Brandon Slagle once again has crafted a perfectly paced 90 min feature film that balances action with character and plot and production all within a lovely running time of around an hour and a half which I have to say is a breath of fresh air compared to so many of the 150 min plus films that are out nowadays (not that theres anything wrong with longer films) I love being able to double feature movies, and The Flood (alongside perhaps something like 1999’s Deep Blue Sea or 2022’s Shark Bait is a recipe for a perfect evenings popcorn chomping fun.

Get the popcorn, get the drinks, put your feet off the floor (in case the creatures get you) and prepare yourself for The Flood.

The Flood stars Casper Van Dien ( Starship Troopers ) as Russell Cody, Nicky Whelan (Hall Pass) as Sheriff Jo Newman , Louis Mandylor (Breakout) as Rafe Calderon, Devanny Pinn (Frost) as Sommer Edward, and Randy Wayne (Hellraiser: Judgment) as Dale Elkins

THE FLOOD is available on digital platforms including Google, Apple TV, Sky and Amazon and on DVD
