Do You Care? A short film Thanks to @EMKellie

When I first started frompage2screen, many years ago. It was pretty much a podcast where I spoke with friends I had never met, spoke to me about films they watched and TV shows they enjoyed. Then things went online using Twitter, Facebook and so forth. FromPage2Screen grew and has never stopped growing.

One thing I never stopped doing was to keep up with indie filmmakers and a lot of projects that werent fortunate enough to have silly large budgets and hollywood stars. The more I learned about indie films, the more indie films I discovered and the fantastic ‘community’ of filmmakers out there who are so passionate about what they do and why they do it.

I even discovered the ‘no budget’ filmmakers who struggled and battled to get their films made.

More power to them.

They are awesome.

Today I found the short film Do You Care.

Put together for a £100budget.

Its aim is to raise awareness of the struggles young carers face and the support services that are available to help them. Its not usually the sort of feature that frompage2screen covers, but sometimes I learn so much when I stick my head out away from the usual type of films I watch.

This short film/music video highlights some of the struggles a young carer could face in a typical day, and provides some eye-opening facts about the cause.

It was made by a small group of young volunteers lead by Emmeline Kellie (a Team V Leader) on a budget of approximately £100! Everyone involved, including the actors, gave their time up for free.

UK band WhiteMoor kindly allowed the team to use their song ‘Only Human’ in the video. WhiteMoor are a Derby based indie band who have released four top 100 download singles and 2 critically acclaimed albums.

Check out the short.
