Monsters:Dark Continent featuring the awesome @mrjohnnyharris

Gareth Edwards, Director of Godzilla, and the up and coming Star Wars spin off movie. Massive budgetted films that everyones knows.

Gareth Edwards. A name that most film fans know nowadays but there was a time when people werent so familiar with the man or his work.

But then in 2010 came the film Monsters. A real indie hit that was made for the cost of $800,000. Shot on location, pure guerilla filmmaking often being shot on the fly without permission and ‘winging it’. The results were fantastic and most definately was that put Gareth in the firing line for the Godzilla directing gig.

A follow up to Monsters was often talked about and is now coming to our screens this November, here in the UK (a US date has yet to be announced)

With Gareth busy prepping his Star Wars project, the directing hat has been handed to Tom Green, whos background includes a bunch of episodes of the fantastic TV show Misfits, as well as a few episodes of the James Spader starring show Blackout.

Monsters:Dark Continent has a very simplistic storyline, that of a soldier entering the ‘infected zone’ to search for a comrade. Thast all you need isnt it for this type of film. A simple storyline allowing all hell to break loose. So what has gotten me so excited about Monsters:Dark Continent. Well its the cast list.

Joe Dempsie (Game Of Thrones, The Fades, Skins), and the mighty Johnny Harris (The Fades, Welcome To The Punch), an actor who has ben on my radar since first seeing him in the Paul Andrew Williams film London to Brighton. Those two names and the premise of Monsters:Dark Continent are enough to have be eagerly waiting for November when I can see the film.

For now. to keep you quiet. A trailer has been released for the film. Let me know what you think.
