VHS, Cinema, DVD, Blu Ray, Netflix and at one point. Lovefilm (which is now Amazon Instant). Those have always been the main formats I used to watch whatever film I decided to spend some time with.
Over the past couple of years, I have watched only a small amount of films using ‘online screeners’ or ‘YouTube’. Not sure why, I just always preferred the actual film in my hand rather than clicking on links to view a film.
Thats my fault and its something that I am rectifying of late. Times are changing and what really is the difference between films that live on Netflix and films that live on YouTube or Vimeo?
Its just a different platform from the ones I have been used to and as time moves on, more and more independent filmmakers are using online options to house their content and allow people like myself to view them.
Time to drag myself into the 21st century.
This evening I am spending some time in front of my large PC monitor to go through the episodes of ‘Power To The People’ Created by Geoff Bell & Eddie Webber.
The Cast includes
Eddie Webber, Geoff Bell, Danny Dyer, Aidan J David, Alison Beattie, Barney Webber, Ricky Grover and many more familiar faces from fans of movies and especially British film.
What a great show. Very funny dialogue, Great and realistic concept which at times reminded me of things like Boys from the Blackstuff and some films of Mike Leigh.
Really well put together, so much fun to watch, therefor you should watch it too. This year I have watched Cops and Monsters (minisode), and all the episodes of Power To The People. I have also watched at least three online screeners and therefore I can say that Im won over by shows on a digital platform.
I look forward to more from Eddie Webber and Geoff Bell and the world of Power To The People, but for now. A huge thank you to the cast and crew of the show for putting it out there for people to watch.
