After watching The 51st State (co starring Sean Pertwee who had a role in the film before that 4,3,2,1) the next film in our 24 hour British Film Marathon will be Shane Meadows 2002 film Once Upon A Time in the Midlands.
Co starring Rhys Ifans & Robert Carlyle who were in The 51st State.
I havent seen OUATITM for years and its a film that I have only ever seen once.
My memories of it are vague so for me, this is the first film of the day that I really have no idea of whether I will like it or not.
So far I am really enjoying this marathon of British films. I know there is still a very long way to go. Its only 4pm and a long night is ahead.
But its all great fun.
It does have its serious, grim moments though. As it is with most films by Shane Meadows (other than Dead Mans Shoes which has virtually no funny moments in it but is still one hell of a film)
I wonder if there is such a think as a bad Shane Meadows film. If there is, I certainly havent seen one.
Dead Mans Shoes: Excellent.
A Room for Romeo Brass : Excellent.
This is England : Excellent.
Shall I keep going?
Here is the trailer. See what you think?
