The story of Battlespace begins after the destruction of their Universe. With a militaristic race of modified humans in hot pursuit Colonel Mara Shryyke (played by Eve Connelly ) finds herself stranded on an inhospitable planet and discovers a weapon of mass destruction set to destroy her home planet in less then 42 hours!  First released in 2006, filmmaker Neil Johnson has lately been restoring the films into 4K and for a limited time only, airing the films for free on his YouTube Channel. Im not sure how long this will carry on for but for the past few weeks, every Sunday, a new film has dropped onto Neil’s channel and the audiences have been lapping it up. I know that Neil wont have an inexhaustible library of films but there are quite a few up there at the moment so if you love some epic scifi films in the style of Firefly, and Space Above and Beyond (yes I know that was a TV show) then do check out some of Neil’s films whilst they are on his channel.  

Battlespace is one of Neil’s films that I haven’t yet seen and I’m headed there in a few moments to check it out. I was browsing the IMDB link for the film and have seen that Blake’s Seven star the late Paul Darrow is in the cast list, so that will be cool to check out. Anyway, enough from me.
