Jett Klyne stars in true holocaust survival story ‘The Boy in the Woods’ based on Maxwell Smart’s #1 bestselling novel – Now on digital from 101 Films ( @101FilmsUK )

When I first saw the press release for The Boy In The Woods, it stated that the film starred Richard Armitage and Jett Klyne and whilst that is very much true, & Richard perhaps is the most known name in the cast and does play a pivotal role in the film. The Boy In The Woods definitely belongs to Jett Klyne as the titular character who is on top form in what is a tough role to take on. The Boy In The Woods, directed by Rebecca Snow and written by Rebecca Snow & Maxwell Smart tells the powerful and emotional true-life story of Max (played by Jett Klyne) a 12 year old Jewish boy from the town of Buczacz who is sent off to live in the countryside by his Mother during the holocaust of World War II in order to save his life from the forcible relocation being carried out by the Nazi’s.

Max finds refuge with a compassionate farmer, Jasko (played by Richard Armitage) and his wife Kasia (played by Masa Lizdek), who shelter him at great risk to themselves in return for help around the farm.  When things get even more dangerous Max is sent off deeper into the woods to survive on his own and this is where the majority of the film takes place.  The Boy In The Woods is an incredible story and will hit you right in the emotions, keep you on the edge of your seat, and in my case I hadn’t realised I was holding my breath many times throughout the story.  Its most certainly not a popcorn film and so its not the sort of the film you can say ‘its great!’ or ‘its very entertaining’ but what I can say about the film is that its pretty incredible, powerful and tense. The film itself is really well made, great directing, acting, design, music and everything else that makes a film perfect. But The Boy In The Woods is about the story as it should be and its a powerful one at that. There is also (and I wont spoil it) a really emotional scene at the end of the film that lets just say- doesn’t include actors. So do stick around when the onscreen story has finished.

Richard Armitage (The Hobbit, Fool Me Once, Obsession) Christopher Heyerdahl (Hell
on Wheels, Van Helsing
), Jett Klyne (WandaVison, Dr Strange in the Multiverse, The
Marvels
), David Kohlsmith (Shazam!, Chucky, The Christmas Chronicles), Masa Lizdek (The Handmaid’s Tale, Simulant)

The Boy In The Woods was released on digital 27 May 2024
