From Director Neil Johnson & featuring Brooke Lewis comes H.G. Wells’ The War Of The Worlds: Alien Dawn now streaming in 4k on YouTube ( @BrookeLewisLA ) #scifi

2012, and Planet Earth is in trouble. Giant tripod machines piloted by alien invaders enslave humanity and the few free human survivors rage a seemingly unwinnable fight against the invading alien army. Welcome to The War of The Worlds: Alien Dawn from writer director Neil Johnson (Chrononaut, Rogue Warrior Robot Fighter) and starring Michael Abruscato (Brentwood Strangler), Barry Alexander (Sorry I Killed You), Tiffany Adams (TVs The Lincoln Lawyer), and Brooke Lewis Bellas (Slime City Massacre) as Chiara Pelligrini

I saw Alien Dawn a few years ago when I was playing ‘catch up’ with some of the films that Brooke Lewis had appeared in but that I hadn’t yet seen. Among them were Bare Knuckles and The Sinatra Club and Alien Dawn. All those three films are very different films of course but all have great Brooke Lewis performances in them so that was a fun week for me Brooke’s one of my favourite people and I always enjoy seeing what roles she tackles. I wont go into too much detail about those two films as I do want to keep the focus on Alien Dawn which is a film I had a lot of fun with. I have seen some reviews that moan about Alien Dawn ‘ripping off’ the original H G Wells story ‘The War Of The Worlds’ and I have to say that those people saying that really have missed the point of Alien Dawn. This Neil Johnson film is a love letter (to use a phrase) to the Wells classic tale of alien invaders and tripod machines trying to smash humanity.  Anyone who thinks that the filmmaker was hoping no one would see the connection to The War Of The Worlds, well those people really need to open their eyes. Neil Johnson loves The War Of The Worlds and has clearly made this film as a homage to it in the same way War Of The Worlds:The Attack (2023) also did when that film arrived on my screens (for the record- I think War Of The Worlds The Attack is also a fun film, do check it out)

So let me stop from digressing again. Neil Johnson has upgraded Alien Dawn into a 4K resolution and has placed the film on his Empire Motion Picture YouTube channel for you to check out for free, and for a limited time. At the time I’m typing this, I don’t know how long the film will be there for so I would recommend you check it out as soon as you can.  If you love shows/films like The Tripods, or Day of The Triffids, or yes, of course War of The Worlds, then you’ll have a blast with Neil’s film. I have the movie on DVD (sadly not in 4K) and would recommend the film if you fancy putting your feet up, turning your brain off and watching some Earthly destruction. This week is the week of Godzilla x Kong x other large monsters. The War Of The Worlds Alien Dawn is humans v alien invaders. What more can you want!
