Beverly, an short film is now available for you to watch for free on YouTube I first started hearing about the film a few years ago and kept up to date with its journey ever since and now you can check it out. The film explores British identity through the perspective of a mixed race female (Laya Lewis) with 2-Tone music as the cultural backdrop to the film. That identity is a uniquely British incarnation of a ‘Rude Girl’, a term that originated from 1960s Jamaican street culture and is also strongly linked to fans of ska music. Vicky McClure (This is England, Line of Duty, Broadchurch) Winston Ellis (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight) and Kieran Hardcastle (This is England, Wish 143) also star.in the twenty five minute film.
