Im guessing many years ago, actors (and other filmcrew) had showreels done on VHS, perhaps before then they were done in Super 8 or some format.
Nowadays its all online which makes it far easier to send showreels around and attract new projects to their front door. Lately I have found myself browsing the internet looking for showreels of actors, actresses and other crew that I know (even if I havent met them)
Of course nothing shows the real talent of someone like a full project but what better way to get an overview of someone in 5 minutes or so than watching a ‘best of’put together online.
Does everyone involved in the film world have a showreel? I dont know the answer to that but I do know that I found some great ones over the past few however-long.
I thought I would share some of them with you here. For those who wonder what a showreel looks like or for those who wonder if they need a showreel. Check these clips out and see how many films and shows you recognise them from.

A recent find and addition to this article is the showreel of one of the stars of easily one of my favourite British films and to this day the performances in this film still chill me,they are that impressive. (That film is London to Brighton)
Georgia Groome and her showreel.
Eddie Webber, who I first recalled in the Nick Love film The Business, but then realised that I had seen him in many more roles before that day.

Earlier this month, one of my favourite actresses Lorraine Stanley released her showreel on Vimeo. Appearing in films such as London to Brighton, Made in Dagenham and Eden Lake. Lorraine is a fantastic actress.

So there is a very small selection of showreels. What do you think? How many films above have you seen?
What showreels have you found that youd like to share with me and others. Some showreels are hard to find as people dont tend to shout about them as much as they should.
Do YOU have a showreel that you would like adding to this article? Send it over to us at frompage2screen@gmail.com
