WHITE SETTLERS pitches the modern urbanites’ dream – starting a simple life in the country – against the possibility of a very different, horrific reality…
It’s Ed and Sarah’s first night in their new home, an isolated farmhouse on the Scottish borders.
But as darkness falls, Sarah suspects they’re not alone, Ed goes to investigate and quickly, the evening becomes a nightmare. It suddenly dawns on them; they do not belong here. And they certainly aren’t welcome either….
The brains behind GrimmFest – Manchester’s annual horror and cult film festival – bring you WHITE SETTLERS, their second feature film directed by Simeon Halligan.
Starring cult horror icon Pollyanna McIntosh (The Woman, Filth, Burke & Hare). I’m such a huge fan of Pollyanna’s Her role in Offspring & The Woman just blew me away and since then I have seen her in many roles including BBCs Waterloo Road, and Exam (a cool thriller of recent years)
Lee Williams (The Tudors, The Forsythe Saga, New Street Law)
WHITE SETTLERS starts shooting Mid May.
Director Simeon, along with producer Rachel-Richardson-Jones, runs Grimm Entertainment, a vehicle for distributing new genre films in the UK and around the world. Grimm has extended relations, here, and internationally. WHITE SETTLERS will be released through their own production company
Rachel enthuses: “It’s been a dream of mine to create a mini Hollywood style studio here in Manchester. I’m thrilled to say Bafta-nominated writer Ian Fenton’s WHITE SETTLERS is the perfect first movie to kick off with – the first of a full slate of genre movies that we plan to finance and produce over the next few years.”
With a film crew combining the industry’s finest: Keith McNamara in the camera department (Gladiator, Casino Royal) Paul Boyce on Make-up (Harry Potter The Deathly Hallows, War Horse) and Line Producer Charles Bates (Tyrannosaur) – Great things are afoot for the White Settlers.
