Richard Griffiths, whilst best known for his role as Harry Potters  Uncle Vernon  has died. He was 65.

For me though Richard was best known as ‘Monty’ in the British Classis/Cult film ‘Withnail & I.

Of course TV fans will be most familiar with his role in the 90s TV show ‘Pie In The Sky’ in which Richard played the main role of ‘Henry Crabbe’

His Agent Simon Beresford announced on Friday that Griffiths died a day earlier of complications following heart surgery at University Hospital in Coventry, central England..

Simon paid tribute to Richard Griffiths as “a remarkable man and one of our greatest and best-loved actors.”
