The King of the Dinobots roars Into the Transformer Studio Series Collectable Line with an epic 15-Inch Collectible set to arrive July 15th 2026 from the wonderful Hasbro Pulse. based on Grimlock from the Michael Bay directed 2017 film Transformers Age of Extinction, this stunning collectable was a dream to open, unboxing (and even though Im an adult) play with! Designed for collectors and Transformers fans of the live-action film franchise, this 38cm release marks the first ever Titan Class figure to join the Studio Series lineup (but hopefully not the last)

Designed and engineered with collectors in mind which is evident as soon as you open the box, the figure transforms from its robot mode into its iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex form in 59 intricate steps. The release also includes Grimlock’s signature mace and spiked knuckle weapon, both of which can be displayed in either mode, allowing collectors to recreate some of the character’s most memorable moments from the film.

Hasbro has also packed the Grimlock set with extensive articulation, including ratcheted joints and an articulated dinosaur jaw, giving you a great range of display possibilities. Theres also the added bonus for collectors who have some of the Studio Series Leader Class figures, as you can allow Optimus Prime and other characters to ride Grimlock into battle, just like the epic movie . Im still somewhat new to the collecting world of Transformers and the mighty Grimlock is only the second Transformer that I have owned (the other being a great Optimus Prime which you can see a picture of here) However this means I have 2 Transformers in my collection and Im pretty sure that now officially means im a ‘collector’ Optimus and now Grimlock look great on my collectors shelf and will be shown off on my video podcasts which I record several times a month.

But enough about Optimus Prime, this is the time for Grimlock. This release represents a milestone for the Studio Series collection, expanding the premium movie line into Titan scale territory for the very first time. With its combination of screen accuracy (and the level of detail is pretty staggering) its engineering and the never ending display value, Grimlock is poised to become one of the standout Transformers collectibles of the year. It certainly doesn’t seem like there is any new addition that I could add to my collection that could outshine this wonderful Dinobot

Over the past few weeks I have been revisiting many of the Transformer movies which I havent seen for a few years. I started ott with a rewatch of the 1986 animated film Transformers The Movie featuring the voice performances of legends such as Orson Welles as Unicron, Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime, Robert Stack as Ultra Magnus and Leonard Nimoy as Galvatron. Its crazy to think (and it makes me wonder where time has gone) that this animated classic was released 40 years ago. It seems only yesterday (well perhaps a bit longer than yesterday) since I first saw this film on its release. Of course its not just me thats in the midst of a revisit to the worlds of Decepticons, Autobots and Dinobots. Hasbro are also having an epic years in what they have named The Apology Tour) to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Nelson Shin directed classic. which alongside the celebrations of the films 40th year also includes reveals of a new wave of products celebrating the film’s milestone anniversary.

For the first time ever, fans can experience THE MATRIX OF LEADERSHIP premium electronic movie replica alongside new STUDIO SERIES additions featuring Shockwave, Skywarp, Wheeljack, Kranix, Sunstreaker, Astrotrain and Snarl. Hasbro Pulse hosted a livestream to walk through the lineup, complete with surprises and characters fans love, without any unexpected plot twists.. The livestream also covered previously revealed products inspired by Optimus Prime, Megatron, Hot Rod, Hound and Scourge are also part of the lineup, and their will be additional reveals planned throughout the year.

This year there will also be announcements of publishing and licensing products: One apology isn’t enough. Hasbro and its partners are giving fans even more to celebrate with a powerful lineup of collectibles and storytelling honouring the 40th anniversary, including products from Culture Fly, Jada Toys, Monogram, ShuShu Papa, Skybound Entertainment, Super7, Threezero and Trends International.

The Transformers Studio Series Age of Extinction Titan Class Grimlock is currently available to pre-order through Hasbro Pulse and selected specialist retailers, with shipping expected around July 15th 2026 . For longtime Transformers fans, Dinobot enthusiasts and Studio Series collectors alike, this release is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated additions to the line.
