Cocaine Bear- gets a High Five from me and disc and digital release announced for May 2023

I’ve always loved movies. since i was a kid and right through to now (and beyond now) I like all types of films, I like serious films, scifi films, horror films, comedy films, I’m not a huge fan of musicals though or animated, but there are still films of those two genres that I do think are pretty great.  Sometimes im in the mood for learning new things so Ill venture into a historical epic or biopic. Sometimes I want escapism and so Ill pop in a Fast and Furious movie or a film about a guy doing a beer run to Vietnam. Sometimes I want a good old horror film so Ill revisit The Omen or The Changeling and turn the lights off. Recently I took a trip to the cinema and had a lovely choice of films to watch.  I could have seen the huge budgeted Avatar:The Way of Water, I could have seen Ant Man and the Wasp, but no I felt the need to watch a film about a bear high of her face on cocaine. and boy was that film a blast!   Loosely (very!!!) based on true events (a bear snorted cocaine and then died, there was no rampage) Cocaine Bear does what it says on the tin and it didn’t let me down at all.  What I was treated to was a zany insane film about a bear who finds some duffle bags of cocaine which had been thrown out of a plane by a worried drug trafficker and the bear injected way more than anyone should (well technically NONE is the right amount to take into your body- but you get what I mean)  The film has the right side of cheesy, it has the wonderful nostalgic 80s feel to it, and is just the sort of film you expect if you go to see a film called Cocaine Bear.

Sometimes you go to a film to learn something new, sometimes you go to a film to feel something. and sometimes you want to watch a film where a high on coke bear chases kids up trees!    FIVE STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have read some reviews of Cocaine Bear that talk about the lack of character development, or that there arent any characters to root for ( I think there are  though) and it makes me wonder what sort of film those reviewers thought they would be watching or hoped they would see. I got everything I wanted. I got to see the always awesome Ray Liotta, I got to see a bear chasing people around the woods and I think back to the thousands of films ive seen and cant think of one EVER where I saw a bear snorting cocaine. Nope I cant think of one.  So think back to when you were a kid, watching films that are daft, but lots of fun. and Cocaine Bear will fit right into that collection.  I miss films like this, I also miss when people would watch a film for what it is and not analyse it to death. I dont need to read an autopsy report on the script of Cocaine Bear, I just need to see a brown bear going berserk in its hunt for her next fix. Whats next Heroin Hamsters.  Just saying!!!

And now you can check the film out when it arrives on disc and digital this May with some great special features too, such as….
