My favourite film of the year “Top Gun: Maverick” is headed to our homes (but if you get the chance, do see it on the biggest cinema screen you can)
The sequel to the 80s classic is receiving a digital release on August 23rd and is followed by a physical release later on the year with a 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD landing on November 1st 2022.
I will definitely be picking the 4k edition up and whilst the disc release date has me super excited. i was also very excited to see that there are nearly 2 hours of extra features on the disc, these are said to include music videos for OneRepublic’s I aint worried and Lady Gaga’s Hold my Hand. There will also be some short featurettes which will take us into the production of the film itself but the major exciting extra looks to be the Masterclass with Tom Cruise which is from the Cannes Film Festival and is said to run for 49 minutes and easily the most essential special feature. No news on whether there is a commentary on the film which is a shame, and Tom and Joseph have done one together for Oblivion and so I was hoping that they would reteam in the audio booth for a talk through of Maverick.
Here is a complete run down of the features that will be on Top Gun:Maverick
