There is a a list of filmmakers that get me super excited whenever a new project is announced, and Canadian Filmmaker David Cronenberg has long been on that list. Variety have reported that filming has now begun in “Crimes of the Future” which is now filming on Athens, Greece. Whilst I don’t know too much about the film (and often prefer to keep it that way, and go in ‘cold’ I do know the IMDB blurb states “A deep dive into the not-so-distant future where humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings. This evolution moves humans beyond their natural state and into a metamorphosis, altering their biological makeup” and If you understand what that means, let me know. But Im not going to try and analyse that too much- I also know that the scifi thriller features the following talent in its cast..
Tanaya Beatty Nadia Litz,,Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar, Lihi Kornowski, Yorgos Karamichos and Yorgos Pirpassopoulos. What more do I need to know. Nothing at this point but the fact that a new David Croneneberg film has begun its journey from a script to the screen has my anticipation at fever pitch
Filming is currently ongoing until September 2021 and this is Davids first directing gig since 2014’s Map to the Stars, and the short film Consumed (also in 2014)
