Sir Christopher Lee has died. He was 93 years young
You can tell the age of someone by the films they associate Christopher Lee with. I knew him from Dracula (even though it was released many years before I was born), I knew him from the 1974 Bond classic The Man with the Golden Gun in which Sir Christopher Lee played the role of Scaramanga. I also knew him from his role in the classic film The Wicker Man.
But for many younger people. Sir Christopher Lee is best known for his roles in the Star Wars prequels and of course Peter Jacksons Lord Of The Rings films. With over 275 credits on IMDb, he is easily one of the most impressive acting talents ever to grace the screen and he shall be missed by all film fans.
Sir Christopher Lee’s considerable collection of film work also included The Wicker Man (1973), To the Devil a Daughter (1976), Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990), The Golden Compass (2007), The Resident (2011), Hugo (2011) as well as four films with director Tim Burton: and they are Sleepy Hollow (1999), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) and Dark Shadows (2012).
“This last decade has been the most extraordinary decade of my life,” he said in a 2012 interview.
