This week FromPage2Screen will be speaking to filmmaker James Plumb.

James Plumb has been involved in several award winning short films over the years.

He wrote and directed ‘Anticipation’,’Acts of God(Zilla)’,’Vertical’ and ‘Final Girl’,as well as the documentary ‘Julian Doyle Masterclass’ as well as  two music videos for the band Don’t Tread on Spiders- ‘Cheer Up, It Might Never Happen’ and ‘Get Your Skates On, Billy’.

He also worked as the Director of Photography on the short films ‘Corridoring’,’Satnav’,’Alone with the Dead’, ‘The Big Pitch’, ‘The A Bit Bigger Pitch’, ‘Last Orders’ and ‘Rotter’. A very busy guy indeed. But its not just short films and music videos that take up his time.

James then made his feature directorial debut in 2011 with the UK zombie  film ‘Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection’, , which he also co-wrote. The film was shot on location in South Wales with a low budget, and the film was acquired by Grindstone Entertainment Group and Lionsgate Home Entertainment for North American distribution.

4Digital Media acquired the UK distribution rights and the film opened on November 30th 2012 in a limited UK theatrical release in the Cardiff, Newport, Bristol and Wolverhampton branches of Cineworld, with additional screenings at independent venues in Lancashire and Lincolnshire.

It was on its DVD release that I discovered the film and it currently sits in my film collection behind my desk. The film also introduced me to the actress Sarah Louse Madison who has appeared in such projects as Doctor Who, The Amityville Asylum and the up and coming Cops and Monsters.

James’ second feature film was ‘Silent Night, Bloody Night: The Homecoming’, a British remake of the American slasher film ‘Silent Night, Bloody Night’. The filming took place in South Wales in 2012 with a cast that included cult icon Adrienne King, star of the original ‘Friday the 13th’. James Plumb once again directed and co-wrote the film which was acquired for UK distribution by 101 Films with Elite Entertainment taking North American and International rights.

James then shifted into production on the film Kerb Crawlers which gets its world premiere in Cardiff. It will be Kerb Crawlers that takes up a large amount of the chat I have with James when we record our podcast episode.

Whilst I have chatted with James online, this will actually be the first actual chat I have had with the man himself.

If you have any questions youd like FromPage2Screen to ask James. Leave them in the comments below.
