Danny Trejo joins cast of indie horror ‘Stoned In’ as voice of ‘Meowchette’

Different Day Pictures is thrilled to announce the upcoming horror comedy Stoned Inn, a uniquely regional, homegrown independent production built on the true DIY spirit of genre filmmaking. Directed by the filmmaking duo of Key Tawn Toothman and Naythan Smith, the film promises a wild, hilarious, and terrifying ride that turns the traditional haunted house subgenre completely on its head.

Stoned Inn follows a completely burned-out stoner who enters a bizarre, high-stakes contest to spend seven nights inside a supposedly haunted, newly renovated house. What starts as an easy way to pass the time and cash in quickly spirals into total chaos. As the nights tick down, he discovers that the house is far stranger, more unpredictable, and infinitely more dangerous than anything advertised.

The film features a stellar ensemble cast led by Maximum James and Jessa Jupiter Flux. Joining the madness is beloved genre icon Danny Trejo (Machete, From Dusk Till Dawn), who lends his unmistakable, legendary voice to the film’s most unusual character—a unique feline named Meowchette. Additionally, martial arts fans and genre enthusiasts can look forward to a special cameo appearance from Chris Casamassa, widely recognized by millions for his iconic work associated with the Mortal Kombat franchise.

Crafted from the ground up by dedicated Kansas filmmakers, Stoned Inn stands as a testament to the power of regional independent cinema, combining sharp comedic timing with authentic, practical indie horror grit.
