Stop sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun and get yourself off to Liverpool way for Semolina Pilchard – not ony a brilliantly entertaining British black comedy crime feature, but also a love letter to the city.

This darkly humorous crime family feud feature – from director Mike Clarke (A Light Through Coloured Glass), who co-writes with Daina Ann Smith – sees loyalty, legacy and family power dynamics collide, with laughs and a truckload of emotional weight.

The film features a stellar line-up of British acting talent including Joe McGann (Night & Day), Sarah-Louise Chadwick (Kate & Jake), Sophia Leanne Kelly (A Light Through Coloured Glass), Alina Allison (Salvable), Macaulay Cooper (Coronation Street), Joe Egan (Fall to the Top) and a cameo from the inimitable Ricky Tomlinson.

When a high ranking Liverpudlian gangster finds out he hasn’t got long to live, he summons his estranged eldest daughter to return home, after five years away, to plan his legacy… But what he hasn’t bargained for is his youngest daughter, who might be more than a little miffed with the arrangements, and is about to try and eliminate her contender and secure the inheritance for herself.

Get ready for some serious Scouse scoundrel action with laughs along the way. Goo goo g’joob!
