The Chelsea Detective Series 4 starring Adrian Scarborough arrives on DVD & digital 12th October from Acorn

THE INIMITABLE Adrian Scarborough (Killing Eve, Gavin & Stacey, The King’s Speech) is back as the crime solving West London case cracker, The Chelsea Detective, diving headlong into more grisly murders beneath the glossy façade of Chelsea’s elite in the fourth outing of this hit crime series. Ive seen the first three seasons of the show (on a three season DVD pack, a great binge watch week that was) and the show is a ton of fun with its feature length episodes which give the stories more room to breathe and set scenes. If you havent seen The Chelsea Detective I do highly recommend it if you want something to help those Autumn and Winter nights to pass.

The Chelsea Detective Series 4 is set to arrive on DVD and digital 12th October 2026, courtesy of Acorn Media International, following its recent premiere on U&Drama. With four new feature length mysteries to solve, it would be a crime to miss this ‘must-watch’ (Radio Times) detective drama.

The fourth season heralds the return of the fantastic cast, with Vanessa Emme (Bloodlands, Dublin Murders) as DS Layla Walsh, Sophie Stone (Shetland, Doctor Who) as CMO Ashley Wilton, Lucy Phelps (Playing Nice, Grace) as DC Jess Lombard, Peter Bankolé (Peaky Blinders, D.I. Ray) as DC Connor Pollock and Frances Barber (Whitstable Pearl, Silk) as Olivia Arnold.

The classical-music-loving, houseboat-dwelling detective Max Arnold (brilliantly played by Adrian Scarborough) and his straight-talking partner DS Layla Walsh (Vanessa Emme) are back, delving further into the dark side of London’s lavish neighbourhood. With four new murderous mysteries in their case files, the dynamic duo investigate the death of an undercover journalist researching a fashion mogul, an aristocratic dynasty brutally guarding their bloodline and a salon owner tied up in a hidden identity and deadly secrets.

This series also features a cryptic double-homicide that spirals outward to Cambridge, where the pair join forces with Layla’s detective cousin, DI Martha McGuire (Justine Mitchell – Your Bad Self, Smoother). As ever, the road to justice is far from smooth, but there’s no stopping The Chelsea Detective.

For a captivating crime caper guaranteed to entertain, step back onto the dangerous streets of London’s most affluent borough for another round of ‘reliably quirky’ (Decider) mysteries in The Chelsea Detective Series 4.
