Ahead of Cannes, Luminescence has successfully secured multiple deals for the sci-fi adventure film, “Timescape” starring newcomers Sofian Oleniuk and Lola Rossignol-Arts.
The Canadian produced film is a fast paced odyssey that takes two kids on a time-travel escapade to prehistoric times, where they encounter dinosaurs, big and small while trying to escape from a fast-charging asteroid. The film received a warm reception during EFM, leading to sales to several companies worldwide.
These include Eagle in Australia, Factoris in France, ADS in Hungary, Plaion in Italy, Nikkatsu in Japan, Yejilim in Korea, Leda Films in Latin America, Nashe Kino in CIS, Front Row in Middle East, Filmfinity in South Africa, Cola Films in Taiwan and Dazzler in U.K. All on the back of a strong Canadian box office performance this past year via TVA Films. Before EFM, XYZ Films acquired U.S. rights. The film is out on VOD and the streaming to be released at a yet-to-be-determined date.
The film was directed by Aristomenis Tsirbas through his Menithings banner and produced by David-Alexandre Coiteux from Fullum Films and Faisal Toor from Empress Road Pictures. International sales were negotiated by Juraj Barabas from Luminescence. Canadian theatrical was negotiated between Empress Road Pictures and Carole Labrie from TVA Films.
