Lion Heart Distribution has acquired the US and Canadian rights to the fantasy western Showdown in Yesteryear. Tim O’Hearn, who produced the feature based on a short film he wrote and directed, negotiated the deal. Aaron Bratcher directed the feature from a screenplay by Gregory Lamberson. Jeff Grennell, who co-produced, stars alongside genre vets Vernon Wells (The Road Warrior, Commando) and Debra Lamb (Blood Craft). A spring 2023 release is anticipated.

Showdown in Yesteryear tells the tale of a modern ranch hand, Daryl Dumwoody, who is transported to the old west via a mysterious door he encounters on a trail. In the town of Dogwood Pass, he tangles with villains and desperados while searching for a way home. The adventure tale threads comedy and romance. Jesse Marciniak, Steve Graf and Mike Montgomery co-star.

O’Hearn and company shot the film at the Dogwood Pass wild west attraction in Ohio. Showdown in Yesteryear garnered numerous awards at Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival, The Wild Bunch Film Festival, and Twin Tiers International Film Festival. It next screens at The Tombstone Film Festival in Arizona, which runs January 27th – 29th.
