Join Oliver Stone for an exclusive in conversation event this December with @faneproductions #ChasingTheLight. @theoliverstone

Join not only my favourite filmmaker but also one of my favourite writers as Oliver Stone is interviewed by Bryan Appleyard, to mark the paperback publication of Oliver’s book Chasing The Light.

In conversation, Oliver will share a true insider’s story of Hollywood’s years of upheaval in the 1970s and ’80s. He’ll recount his formative years – and share the struggles and triumphs he encountered in the making of his iconic films. Whether delving into fascinating anecdotes from script meetings with Al Pacino, considering the breathless hustles to finance the acclaimed and divisive Salvador or giving a vivid recreation of filming Platoon in the depths of the Philippine jungle with Kevin Dillon, Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp et al, Oliver brings this period alive as only someone at the centre of the action truly can.

Raw, savagely honest, and as dramatic as any of his movies, this event promises to be a fascinating exposure of Oliver’s inner life and his powerful, all devouring energy and genius that drove him to become one of the world’s greatest filmmakers and writers.

Its a virtual event, and you can be there watching and listening as Oliver takes us right to the heart of what it’s like to make movies and of course to learn more about his excellent memoir, Chasing The Light. I have read Chasing the Light twice, and also have the audio book version and I cant recommend this book enough to you.

For the event, there are several options including a  ‘stream and book’ package which includes a unique ticket for the stream, and a copy of Chasing The Light worth £9.99, deliverable to any UK or international address.  The ticket price for that package is £15.00

You can of course go for the streaming only option which is £10.00,  Had I not been away on my first vacation in two years on this date. I would 100% be there, sitting at my screen watching what I’m sure will be a fantastic evening.  Unfortunately whilst the event will be available beyond that date, I’m not back in the UK or near a computer until the 22nd of December – GUTTED!!

The event itself will initially be broadcast on 10 December at 6.30pm UK time. It will be available to view up to a week after the event has ended and can be accessed Worldwide. If you live in a time zone that does not suit the initial broadcast time you can watch it at any point after the initial showing for one week.
