Riot Starring @NickNevern Directed by @siphillips1980

Fresh from the presses and straight into my ‘this is awesome news’ pile.
Press On Features are pleased to announce the re-release of Simon Phillips’ hit “Riot” (which was released previously as G.B.H.) with Lionsgate UK.

The gritty thriller sees troubled cop Damien (brilliantly portrayed by Nick Nevern) facing off against his old gang in the 2011 London riots. As tensions in the capital rise, a tragic incident kicks off city-wide violence that leaves no one unaffected, including his police partner, Louise (Kellie Shirley).
The films producer Paul Tanter said “I’m delighted to be teaming up with Lionsgate again and to be releasing the film under our original title. This gives audiences a second chance to engage with this brutal drama with great central performances from Nick and Kellie. This is the best directorial debut I have ever seen and one Simon should be immensely proud of. With Nick’s character taking justice into his own hands, it’s great there will be a decent revenge/vigilante film available to buy this Christmas”. Ben Grunbaum from Lionsgate said “We are thrilled to be teaming up with Press On Features to re-release this great British thriller. Lionsgate are proud supporters of British film and are very happy to be working with Simon Phillips and Paul Tanter on the film”.
My own review of Riot (which I saw as GBH last year) is that its one hell of a film, a fantastic directorial debut by Simon and yet another wonderful performance by Nick Nevern. Definitely check the film out if you havent seen it before.
Riot stars Nick Nevern , Kellie Shirley Jenna Harrison, Lorraine Stanley, Con O’Neill and Steven Berkoff. Simon Phillips and Paul Tanter recently wrapped kidnap drama The Disappearance of Lenka Wood (starring Petra Bryant & and are in pre-production on period crime biopic The Rise of The Krays.
